Applicability: ABB EASY PRO™

ABB is fully committed to protecting your privacy and respecting your rights to control how your personal data is used. This notice explains why and how ABB collects and uses your personal data when you use EASY PRO™ application and the rights you have in relation to that data.

Your Personal Data

ABB France, registered at 7 boulevard d’Osny 95800 Cergy Saint Christophe 95800 (France), will be the “Controller” of your personal data – this company is responsible for the privacy of your data.

What we need

We are collecting and using personal data about you, including:

  • identification data (first name, last name, user ID),
  • contact data (personal or business e-mail address, personal or business address, telephone or mobile number) – this concerns only contact information that you share with us,
  • data related to the usage of EASY PRO™ application (cookies/certificates, device identifier, login credentials, product usage data, information if the project conducted with the use of EASY PRO™ application was completed),
  • your preferences regarding home automation solutions, door entry systems, types of products that you use, types of work that you perform – this concerns only preferences that you indicated in your personal profile,
  • your feedback concerning the usage of application – only if you provided us with your feedback,
  • your photo – only if you decide to upload it to your personal profile. Please note that you can always delete the photo from your personal profile.
  • your location – only if you have given consent or allowed application to track, if you have denied, application will not track any location data. Please note that you can manually choose whether to allow or deny location tracking in the application.

All the categories of data listed above were collected directly from you or as a result of the usage of EASY PRO™ application.

Why we need it

We use the personal data that we collect for the following purposes:

  • provide the access to the EASY PRO™ application, including creating your personal account in this application,
  • create an account on the ABB My Buildings Portal,
  • manage and administer your use of the EASY PRO™ application,
  • monitor access to the EASY PRO™ application,
  • ensure that EASY PRO™ application fulfils all your needs,
  • contact you to provide application support as well as respond to your inquiries and requests.

We process your personal data for the abovementioned purposes in order to fulfil our contractual obligations resulting from ABB EASY PRO™ END USER LICENSE AGREEMENT that you concluded with the Controller or as part of pre-contractual measures we have been asked to take (i.e. the legal basis for processing personal data is Article 6 (1) (b) of GDPR1 - processing is necessary for the performance of a contract to which the data subject is party or in order to take steps at the request of the data subject prior to entering into a contract). You do not have to share your personal data with us, but if you choose not to, we will not be able to provide the access to the EASY PRO™ application which you have requested.

We may also use your personal data in order to develop and improve EASY PRO™ application through assessment and analysis of the information as well as for the purpose of information security operations. These processing activities will be performed basing on our legitimate interest which is to ensure that ABB products and services cater to the customers’ needs and to ensure information security (i.e. the legal basis for processing personal data is Article 6 (1) (f) of GDPR - processing is necessary for the purposes of the legitimate interests pursued by the Controller). You may obtain a copy of our assessment of why we may process your personal data for these interests by visiting www.abb.com/privacy.

Additionally, we may process your personal data on the basis of statutory requirements, for example, on the basis of tax or reporting obligations, cooperation obligations with authorities or statutory retention periods. The legal basis for such processing is Article 6 (1) (c) of GDPR - processing is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation to which the Controller is subject.

Please note, that we collect only personal data that we need for the abovementioned purposes.

We may also anonymise your personal data so it no longer identifies you and use it for various purposes, including data analysis, improving our services and testing certain of our IT systems.

How we share your personal data

We only share your personal data as described in this notice.

How long we keep it

We will keep your personal data as long as you wish to use EASY PRO™ application. As soon as you decide to delete your account from EASY PRO™ application we will securely delete your personal data. If necessary to meet legal or regulatory requirements and/or resolve disputes, we may keep some of your personal data after this time.

What are your rights?

You have the right to correct any error in your personal data or update it.

Additionally, you also have the right to:

  • access or receive a copy of your personal data that we hold,
  • delete your personal data that we no longer have a lawful ground to use,
  • port your personal data to a new supplier,
  • object to the processing of your personal data based on the legitimate interests ground (provided our reasons for the processing don’t outweigh any prejudice to your data privacy rights), or
  • restrict how we use your personal data whilst a complaint is being investigated.

You may make such request at www.abb.com/privacy. In certain circumstances, we may need to restrict the above rights to safeguard the public interest (e.g. the prevention or detection of crime) and our interests (e.g. the maintenance of legal privilege).
