At ABB, respecting your data privacy rights is a top priority. This policy explains why and how we collect information about you and how we process such data. secure@home app does not collect any personally identifying information. However, we will gather information about the country from which you are using our app, the device you are using and how you use our app.

The data we collect about you and how we get it

We will not collect your personal data.

But still we have to get some information about our users for statistical reasons. Because of that we may collect limited non-personally identifying information that your device makes available whenever you use our app. We may get some information about the device you are using - brand of the device, category (e.g. mobile or tablet), model, OS version and language used by the device. And finally, we may collect data about how the app is used - from which app store it was downloaded, what is the version of the app, when you opened it for the first time and what functionalities are you using. We don't collect information about your age, gender or any other information that could lead to your identification. We don't ask our users to log in or authenticate in our app. You can just use it without sharing any personal information with us.

What we use your data for

We use information about the device and how the app is used to improve our performance and service.

Data minimization

Our app requests only data relevant to the core functionality and uses data that is required to accomplish the relevant task. We do not request access to protected resources like photos or contacts. The app needs the user and PIN code of your secure@home alarm system and this information is stored only on your device. We do not have any access to it and we do not store credentials or tokens.

How we share the data

We only share your data with other ABB affiliates or third parties as necessary for the purposes described in this policy. See the list of ABB subsidiaries

How long we keep your data

We only keep your data for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this privacy notice. After this time, we will securely delete the data.

Information security

We take appropriate security measures to protect against unauthorized access or against unauthorized alteration, disclosure or destruction of the data. We restrict access to information only to ABB employees and identified parties.
