ABB is fully committed to protecting your privacy and respecting your rights to control how your personal data is used. This notice explains why and how ABB collects and uses your personal data and the rights you have in relation to that data.

Your Personal Data

ABB Power Protection SA, via Luserte Sud 9, 6572 Quartino, Switzerland will be the “Controller” of your personal data – this company is responsible for the privacy of your data. Your personal data are obtained directly from you, but sometimes ABB or external third- personnel – cette société est responsable de la protection de vos données.

What we need

We may collect and using personal data about you, including:

  • The contact information you share with us: first name, last name, business email, business address, business telephone number, business mobile number,
  • Information used for managing your account and adapt functions of the application: login credentials, nickname, IP address, certificate, device identifier, RFID information, preferences, product usage data, password recovery information

Why we need it

We use the personal data that we collect for the following purposes:

  • manage local accounts or your accounts with other ABB group companies,
  • monitor access to systems and/or downloads,
  • develop and improve services or products through assessment and analysis of the information,
  • contact you to provide product support,
  • manage and administer your use of requested applications, products and services,
  • process and fulfil purchases made through our Services,
  • manage and dynamically assign software licenses for applications, systems or services from corporate accounts to employees or contractors. 
 We will rely on our legitimate interest to process your personal data. Our legitimate interest to collect and use the personal data for this purpose are application management, adapting functions of it and interaction. We only collect the personal data from you that we need for these purposes.

We may also anonymize your personal data so it no longer identifies you and use it for various purposes, including data analysis, improving our services and testing certain of our IT systems.

How long we keep it

Personal data shall be kept for as long as the application is used and also depending on exhaustion of rights and obligations.

Please be aware that we may keep some data for a longer period for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims never longer than the applicable statutes of limitation and/or the duration of respective procedures/claims. After this time, we will securely delete your personal data.

What are your rights?

You have the right to correct any error in your personal data or update it.

Depending on the jurisdiction in which you are located and in which your personal data is processed, you may also have the right to:

  • Access or rectification or receive a copy of your personal data that we hold,
  • delete your personal data that we no longer have a lawful ground to use,
  • port your personal data to a new supplier,
  • object to the processing of your personal data based on the legitimate interests ground (provided our reasons for the processing don’t outweigh any prejudice to your data privacy rights), or
  • restrict how we use your personal data whilst a complaint is being investigated, you may make such request at www.abb.com/privacy. In certain circumstances, we may need to restrict the above rights to safeguard the public interest (e.g. the prevention or detection of crime) and our interests (e.g. the maintenance of legal privilege).
